Self-Defence

Self-defence is something everyone should
learn, as it's something that could one day
save your life!
With the internal martial arts, self-defence is
learnt as it should be, not for a sport to use in
competition, but as a means to protect
yourself and others from harm.
The training you will get from an internal art
such as Taijiquan (Tai Chi) or Baguazhang
(Bagua), will teach you methods that work in
the street, where there are no rules, and no
getting ready, and you must react in an instant
to what is happening to you.
Every aspect of self defence is taught,

Rules of Fighting
Knife Defence
Defence against a larger opponent
Defence against multiple opponents

etc.

ĞApplies to all of the below links

The main difference with self-defence between the internal and external martial arts, is "Fa-jing" (Explosive Energy) The external styles use muscular force from the arm or sometimes with one turn of the waist, where the only way to get power is to load your fist back so you can strike from a good distance.
With the internal styles, power is gained over a very short distance with no loading required, (commonly known as the one inch punch) through rapid and violent shaking of the hips, sending the power up through the whole body in a whip like action, and releasing out of your fist, palm, elbow, or foot etc, so small people can then gain the power to knock-out a much larger opponent.
And every strike you do recoils back into your body powering the next strike, enabling you to strike with a rapid and never ending attacking sequence though not tiring you self out.

Also, every method used is aimed at Dim-Mak points (Death Points) so you can cause knock-out or death with one strike, essential when fighting larger or multiple opponents.
